The Gathering For EcoCulture

Our mission is to bring together Native Elders and tribal members with public school teachers to interact and share environmental and indigenous wisdom that would then be offered in California schoolrooms.

Our vision is to create a sustainable partnership with our public schools to integrate EcoCulture as a long-term and replicable model for national ecological and multi-cultural programs starting with California.

Leaders will encourage and guide teachers to begin the process of viewing their environment from a different perspective using:

• Tribal stories
• Folklore and mythology
• Songs and dances
• Science and social studies
• Drama and film
• Fine arts and journal writing
