A set of principles from a coalition of businesses and nonprofit groups has released a report demonstrating the demand among leading business for real energy choices. Businesses involved include Facebook, Proctor and Gamble, Mars, Bloomberg, REI, and Intel, among others.
The document is titled Corporate Renewable Energy Buyers’ Principles: Increasing Access to Renewable Energy. It explains the needs of forward-thinking businesses to access dependable renewable energy supplies, which are currently unavailable or very limited in the Investor Owned Utility system, which dominates the United States.
This set of demands is a great starting point for the critical conversation between businesses and utility companies about the availability of renewable energy as consumers become more and more aware of the impact emissions of greenhouse gases have on our planet.
Inter Press Service has a very good report on the Corporate Renewable Energy Buyers’ Principles.
