Rachel Maddow does a great job explaining just some of the major concerns with the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant on California’s central coast.
In addition to the threats to health and safety posed by the nuclear power plant perched atop multiple active earthquake faults, Maddow discusses the major cost overruns in the construction and retrofitting at the plant, including a major mistake that ended up raising the price of construction by $2.2 Billion.
Nuclear power is too expensive, too potentially catastrophic and too toxic even when there’s not an accident. It’s time to move California and the world to real alternatives.
