The era of centralized power is over. This is true in our political system as well as our electricity system. Decentralized energy, like decentralized power, is more efficient, more effective, and less expensive than a centralized system. The era of Safe Energy is here – we no longer need fossil fuels or nuclear energy to power our lives. Instead, we can replace aging infrastructure with 21st-century technology and, in the process, make our systems more resilient, more reliable, and 100% renewable. This leap to the next system will help lift rural and village communities out of poverty and into the information age. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. The time is now and this is the place. Santa Barbara can lead this transition to a bright future.
